FAQs
New to Climbing
-
MW is a bouldering-only climbing gym. Bouldering is a style of climbing in which climbers scale up shorter walls without the need for harnesses/ropes. Thick, heavy-duty padding is placed underneath the climbing walls to help absorb any falls taken by the climber.
No previous climbing experience or training is necessary to come boulder!

Nope! We welcome walk-ins at any time during our business hours!
-
We do not have a minimum age requirement - climbers as young as 2 and as mature as 70 have climbed at MW. All guests must first sign a waiver and check in with the front desk staff before climbing. Waivers can either be completed at the front desk or online. All guests under 19 years old must have their parent/legal guardian co-sign their waiver. Nebraska is one of the few states for which the age of majority is 19. All guests under 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult chaperone. Youth under 5 years old climb for free.

Welcome! Day passes are available for purchase from the front desk staff. Street shoes may be worn throughout the facility, but we require all climbers to wear climbing specific shoes while on our climbing walls and boulder pads.
We offer rental climbing shoes at the front desk or you can bring your personal pair. Our experienced climbing staff will give a tour of our facility and answer any questions. After that, you’re free to climb! MW Climbing has storage cubbies to stow your personal items away while you climb.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, socks, hair ties, and trimming your nails for your visit. We have around 100-150 climbing routes designed for all experience levels — from true beginners to experienced climbers!

No, but you will still need to complete the waiver at the front desk. Click here to complete an online waiver.

Nope! Our gym is structured similarly to your typical fitness gym where the purchase of a day pass grants you gym access for the entire business day. That means you can even leave the gym and come back later on the same day. The average person typically spends between 1-2 hours for a single climbing session, but there’s no standard.
-
Like most sports and physical activities, climbing has inherent dangers as part of the sport. Our staff instruction and gym policies can assist in managing the risks of climbing, but each guest is ultimately responsible for their own activity and risk management.
Adult chaperones, parents, and/or guardians are responsible for supervising their youth climbers.
