We Need Volunteers!

MW Omaha is proudly hosting our first ever USA Climbing Youth Bouldering Competition and we need volunteer judges!

No Previous Experience Necessary.

Many of our volunteer judges are parents of the youth climbers and members of our community. You don’t need to have previous judging (or even climbing) experience because we provide ALL of the judge training before the event.

The Perks.

We appreciate your support in helping a local gym like us grow the sport. As a thank you for volunteering, we’d like to supply you with the following:

  • 2 Free Day Passes per session volunteered

  • Free lunch, snacks, & Café drink tickets

  • Free registration to the VOLUME UP comp

  • A raffle ticket to our volunteer raffle

  • A crisp high-five from Bryce (our Head Setter)

  • Our sincere gratitude from M & W

The Process of Youth Competitive Climbing

  • Qualifying Events

Youth competitive climbers are categorized by predetermined age groups and can attend USA Climbing events to compete against fellow climbers.

All youth competitive climbers start by competing at local level events, known as Qualifying Events (QEs).

  • Regional Championship

Climbers who in the top 26 of their age category, scored by their performance during QEs, qualify to participate in the Regional Championship.

If the climber scores in the top 13 during Regionals, the next step is to compete at Divisionals!

  • Divisional Championship

The Divisionals Championship is typically spread across two days. Climbers who score in the top 13 climbers (per category) on the first day of Divisionals advance to the second day.

Then, only the top 6 climbers (per category) on Day 2 advance to the Nationals Championship competition.

  • National Championship

Nationals is the final step of USA Climbing, where all of the climbers who advanced from Divisionals gather to compete (roughly 54 climbers per category).
